GearBox was the first rental company in Europe to offer stand-alone or multi-seat Apple Final Cut Pro systems, installed on PowerMac G5 workstations for hire - and since that time, there has been significant growth in the use of Final Cut in all areas of professional media production.

The latest GearBox Final Cut rental systems are supplied with the recently released Final Cut Studio 2 production bundle as standard, installed on the latest Apple Intel processor based 8-core Mac Pro workstations or MacBook Pro portable computers, a range of Apple Cinema HD displays are also available.

The systems are offered with a choice of AJA Video Systems Kona 3 4:4:4 2K capable High-Definition or Kona LHe 12-bit HD/SD digital video interface solutions, for MacBook Pro systems the AJA Io and new Io HD options are available.

In addition, GearBox is offering as optional add-ons the latest storage solutions designed for use with Final Cut Studio 2, including; the Apple’s new Final Cut Server application, G-Tech G-Speed Fibre Channel and G-RAID2 FireWire 800 drives, and also Apple Xserve RAID systems, which enable scalable multi-seat FCS 2 HD configurations with Fibre Channel storage up to 7TB and networking for large-scale online productions.
